The environmental zone includes the inner city of Berlin within the suburban rail ring.
Only vehicles meeting certain exhaust gas standards are allowed.
Vehicles with particularly high emission levels have to stay outside.
Only vehicles with a green windscreen sticker are allowed.

Stickers are issued by the vehicle registration authority (Landesamt für Bürger und Ordnungsangelegenheiten –LABO, by the exhaust gas test organisations 
such as TÜV, DEKRA, GTÜ and by about 800 authorised garages in Berlin.
